Geographically, Alaska is the largest state in the country, yet spreading the Gospel to those living in Alaska continues to be a struggle. During your time in Alaska, you will have opportunities to serve Native Americans in many different ways. You may work alongside the former Native American Chief, Will May, and his wife, Yvonne, as we continue the work that began years ago to build a retreat center, (used to host youth, missionaries and families in need of spiritual care), and work to split and distribute wood to those in the area to help them survive the winter.
Another beautiful opportunity to support the youth in Alaska will be work that we do to help with renovations at a second retreat center called Camp Wi-La. This camp is focused on youth, and some of their facilities are in need of renovation.
All of our work will be construction or relational support and community encouragement. We are excited for the opportunity to work with, "The Door Ministries," a safe home for at-risk youth. The shelter provides a safe place to sleep, home cooked meals, clothing, supplies, and connections to community resources to help youth find stability.
If you are 18 or older, have had previous mission experience, and are looking for an opportunity to develop long term relationships, to provide community encouragement, and to share the hope you have in Jesus with others, then this trip is for you!
